On Saturday the Club team took on a very solid Franklin Pierce team that had lost only 1 game in the NECBA this season. In 2 exciting games the Cats won a doubleheader 10-8 and 9-4.

In the first game behind some outstanding hitting the Cats came from a 6-6 tie in the 4th inning to score 4 in the 5th and go on to a 10-8 victory. Jacob Sprague (Randolph) was the winner in relief. Multiple hits were produced by Big Dog McAuliffe (Brattleboro), Jake Levan (South Burlington) including 2 home runs and Brad Chandler (Kingston, MA) and the team collected a total of 12 hits. Outstanding defensive plays were turned in by Zac Roy (Fairfax) in left Jamie Martell (Brattleboro)   behind the plate and Chandler at shortstop.

The nightcap proved to be equally interesting as the Club came from a 4 run (first inning) deficit to pull out a 9-4 win. Luke Russell (Duxbury) after a 44 pitch first inning settled down and allowed no hits the rest of the way. He was truly in command. Key hits were garnered by Turbo Halvorson (Shelburne), Mike Berkley (Boxborough, MA), Luke Dolan (Underhill), Thomas Roberts (Brandon) and Levan.

With the wins the team won the Northwest Division league championship with a 10-2 record. We now wait to see the seeding for the NECBA tournament which starts this coming weekend. For updated information google necba to find out the tourney schedule.
